In attempt to meditate on God’s word day and night, I began a holy habit of daily turning a verse of Colossians into a prayer. Here’s a recent prayer:
God of the Cosmos,
You rescued the church from sin and darkness.
We thought ourselves to be kings.
Yet, sin ruled and reigned.
The dominion of darkness dimmed our sight.
We stumbled and groped in the darkness we held.
You broke in and pulled us out.
You brought us to a better kingdom,
Ruled by a good king, the true King.
Hail King Jesus.
