Jeff was called to pastor First Baptist Sulphur Springs on March 31, 2019. His first sermon as pastor was Easter 2019. He was born in Ft. Knox, Kentucky but traveled the world while growing up in a military family. Experiencing the power of the local church was the most influential force in his spiritual development. Thus, Jeff has a passion for the church and desires to see it have a powerful impact in the community.

Prior to coming to FBC Sulphur Springs, Jeff served as pastor of First Baptist Crawford, Texas for 10 years. He served as the associate pastor of Brookview Baptist Church in Waco, Texas during his seminary years. He has also been a staff member of two non-profit Christian ministries committed to community development and urban ministry. Jeff earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and a Master of Divinity in Theology from George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University. He also earned the Doctor of Ministry from Truett Seminary. His culminating project was titled, Acts 13:1–3 As Normative Praxis in the Local Baptist Church: A Connection Between Mission and Vocation.
Jeff is married to Katie, a lifelong student of missions and world Christianity. She has done mission work in the Northwest United States, the horn of Africa, and India. Jeff is an avid reader, runner, and devoted sports fan. He enjoys reading in the areas of theology, biblical studies, ecclesiology, and presidential history. He runs for pleasure and has competed in numerous 5Ks, 10Ks, half marathons, and one marathon. He roots for the Texas Rangers and the Baylor Bears. Jeff and Katie are parents to Abigail (born 2011) and Wesley (born 2015).
