I always appreciate when people think highly enough of me to call or come by my office for prayer and advice. Yet, not everyone comes to me. Some would rather write to “Dear Abby.”

Here is an actual “Dear Abby” column from May 12, 1960:

It’s actually not horrible advice. It’s a horrible question – but not horrible advice.  Yet, as the people of God, we have a better source of wisdom than “Dear Abby.”

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
