There is a story about a man who went to Calcutta, India to work with Mother Teresa. He spent the day caring for people dying with dreadful disease, doing unmentionable things to help serve them in the last few days of their lives. At the end of the day he told Mother Teresa, “I would not do this for a million dollars.” She smiled and said, “Neither would I.”
There is more to life than money.
There is more to life than success in the eyes of the world.
There is more to life than status and achievement.
When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
The Colossians owe their new identity to Jesus Christ. Yet, it is not enough to say that the life is shared with Christ. It is not enough to say that life is in relationship with Christ. The Apostle Paul declares that life is Christ.
In Jesus we have eternal life to come and abundant life right here and now.
