Plans in Pencil

Don’t merely ask God to bless your plans.

Don’t merely ask God to close doors you already plan to walk through.

If you live in such a way you will be frustrated in a superficial relationship with God.  You will miss out on countless God moments. I firmly believe much of the church lives dull and boring spiritual lives because they pursue their own passions and desires.  In doing so, they forfeit “Only God could have done that!” type of moments.

I encourage you to live with an open heart, mind, and hands.  Receive what God has for you.  Don’t merely tell God what you want.

I’ll rework a phrase I recently heard from a good friend: When you make your plans … write in pencil. Give God free reign to scratch out, erase, and write anew.
