The people walking in darkness
have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of deep darkness
a light has dawned. – Isaiah 9:2
A picture never truly captures the beauty of the sky. A sermon never fully captures the beauty of God. But I’ll keep at it.
I’ve preached roughly 2,000 sermons in my 17 years in ministry. Some might be worth preaching again. I pray many remain hidden in a hard drive on an overused Mac. Most of my sermons these days are kept alive through modern technology, available at the click of a button. Lord, have mercy.
Even my best efforts fall short of the holiness, majesty, and beauty of God.
I pray every single day that every single sermon expounds the truth of Scripture and points people to a deep, meaningful relationship with God Almighty. May I never grow complacent in locking myself in my study to diligently pour over the Scriptures.
